This workshop delves into the practice of oral history. It provides an overview of the underlying principles of oral history and the practical aspects of undertaking an oral history project. In this workshop you will learn how to: design an oral history project, budget enough time for your project, plan and prepare for interviewing, and conduct interviews. After this workshop you will be ready to create a project plan, find interviewees, and know how to conduct a productive interview.
The second workshop in the series, Digital Audio Recording, will be held on Thursday May 19, 2016 from 6:00 p.m.–9:00 p.m.
The third workshop in the series, After the Interview: Post Processing for Future Access will be held on Thursday May 26th from 6:00 p.m.–9:00 p.m.
The cost of all three sessions in the Introduction to Oral History workshop series is $150+gst, or $100+gst for students and UWinnipeg staff and faculty. This includes a one-year OHC Membership.
