Introduction to Oral History Workshop Series - January 2017

The Oral History Centre will be holding the Introduction to Oral History workshop series in January, 2017. 

The Introduction to Oral History sessions will be one evening per week, from 6:00 p.m.–9:00 p.m., over a three week period. They include:
 

January 12:     Introduction to Oral History: Overview of oral history method including planning your oral history project, budgeting time and money, preparing to interview, and interviewing.

January 19:     Digital Audio Recording:  How to create high quality digital audio recordings including preferred file formats, microphones and placement and how and where to set up your recorder.

January 26:     After the Interview: Post processing for archiving and future access, including: organizing your project, transcribing, other useful documents, and software and hardware tools that can help.

 

Completing the Introduction to Oral History workshop series is required for Oral History Centre Membership. The first year of your OHC Membership is included in the workshop fee.

  • $150.00+ GST for Individuals 
  • $100.00+ GST for Students and UWinnipeg faculty and staff.
