Transcription and Summary Workshop

Beginning in the new year, the Oral History Centre will host an Introductory Oral History Workshop Series This series of introductory workshops is designed to provide the knowledge and skills necessary to conduct a successful oral history project. These workshops teach both the practice and philosophy of oral history, including: what makes oral history unique; how to design a project; the technical skills needed to make quality audio recordings; and how to create complementary text documents that will ensure your project is organized, archivable, and useful to future researchers.

Transcription and Summary
Wednesday February 5th 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
This workshop explores the advantages of creating textual documents to accompany oral history recordings. It reviews the advantages of transcribing or summarizing interviews while teaching the common conventions used, including how to effectively budget time to include this step.


Space for each workshop is limited. Please contact at the Oral History Centre for more information, or to register. A $20.00 workshop fee includes all necessary workshop materials.Refreshments will be served.
