Treaty Process in Northern Manitoba

The collection consists of two series of interviews. 1. Northern Manitoba Elders Project. This project was undertaken in 1988 by the Ma-Maw-We-Tak Friendship Centre of Thompson, Manitoba. The tapes consist of 27 hours of interviews done with elders in Northern Manitoba. The interviews cover schooling, economic activities, family and traditional life-styles, and are based on personal recollections. 2. Treaty process in Northern Manitoba. Approximately 20 hours of interviews were done with elders in four communities. Treaties No. 5, 6 and 10 were covered. The project was supervised by TARR. The interviews are in Cree but English translation is available. Sound quality is good.
