This tutorial will introduce users to the steps necessary when recording audio as part of an interview with your  smartphone or tablet. While the tutorial will cover a broad range of techniques and methods it may be possible that your specific phone or device is not covered in full by this tutorial.

Zoom H2n Audio Recorder

The Zoom H2N is a pocket-sized digital recorder that captures pristine audio recordings. The unique design of the recorder enables you to record in Mid-Side (MS) stereo, 90° X/Y stereo, 2-channel and 4-channel surround sound.

Audacity Audio Editing Software

Audacity is a free, open source, multi-track audio editing platform. It can be used to record, and edit many audio file types, including: WAV, AIFF, MP3, AU, and FLAC. It also supports the import of audio files from video files including Opus, AC3, M4A/M4R (AAC) and WMA formats. Audacity can also be used to record digital audio tracks using your computer, providing you have an internal or external microphone.
