Summaries of interviews
Interviews conducted in 1979 under a contract by the Saskatchewan Archives Board. Following the basic idea of Studs Terkel's oral history, Working: People Talk About What They Do All Day and How They Feel About What They Do, Ted Wood began conducting interviews with people in Regina about their work. Of the individuals he recorded, two were students and tour guides for Wascana Centre Authority, one is a home economics teacher and a homemaker, and the others are a secretary and clerk-stenographer respectively. They speak freely about their jobs, what they like and dislike about them, their duties and future career possibilities. For various reasons, the project was not continued beyond this point though a larger number of interviews along this same line could prove of considerable value in documenting the history of ordinary working people.
