Introduction to Oral History

In this workshop you will learn the underlying principles of oral history and the practical aspects of undertaking an oral history project, including: how to design an oral history project, budget enough time for your project, approaches to interviewing, how to capture quality audio recordings, and how to create complementary text documents that will ensure your project is organized, archivable, and accessible to future researchers.

This workshop will be held in-person. It consists of 3 workshop sessions held over 3 weeks. Registration includes all three sessions.

Friday Jan. 16th: Introduction to Oral History
Friday Jan. 23rd: Digital Audio Recording
Friday Jan. 30th: After the Interview

This workshop will be in-person at the OHC. Attendance  is limited to 20 participants.

Participants may register as OHC Members upon completion of this series. The workshop fee for this series includes a one-year OHC membership.

Workshop Fee:

• Free for UWinnipeg students, faculty and staff who register using their UW provided email address.

• $105 ($100+gst) for community members.
