Speech bubble floating above workshop title: Introduction to Oral History

Introduction to Oral History

For this workshop the OHC is bringing back the original 3-part, in-person “Introduction to Oral History” workshop series! The workshop consists of three sessions, scheduled as followed:

Thursday February 02th: Introduction to Oral History
Thursday February 09th: Digital Audio Recording
Thursday February 16th: After the Interview.

In this workshop you will learn the underlying principles of oral history and the practical aspects of undertaking an oral history project, including: how to design an oral history project, budget enough time for your project, approaches to  interviewing, how to capture quality audio recordings, and how to create complementary text documents that will ensure your project is organized, archivable, and accessible to future researchers.

Participants who attend all three sessions can register as OHC Members upon completion.

This workshop is limited to 20 participants. This workshop is free for UWinnipeg students, staff and faculty. For community members outside of UWinnipeg there is a $100 workshop fee, which includes one year of OHC membership.
